The pros. Wi-Fi 6, decent range and speeds, Qos and it looks like a spaceship The cons. As others have stated the Netgear Armor and firmware can be problematic. If you use the app to set up you are required to install Armor, which is basically bitdefender antivirus malware and vpn which will slow your speed, and create an account with Netgear you can disable Armor but it is still installed. The biggest problem for me was the network logs, it was false flagging normal internet traffic as dos attacks. If you have multiple devices connected at once that many flags will trigger the firewall and kick you off line or overwhelm the processor with logs. I found a work around, to stop this by simply disabling dos attack scans and logs without disabling dos protection in WAN settings. Additionally if you use a web browser to setup the router via the ip address 192.168.1.1 method and not the app you do not have to install Armor or create an account with Netgear. I recommend this method if you don’t want or need Armor. Netgear routers are notorious for false flagging and honestly mandating a software install just to use the router is kinda scummy. A simple firmware update would fix the issue but they see this as a business model. Hope this helps someone.

I bought this router as a recommendation of my ISP for our city's new Fiber. It is rated over 1 GB, which is what I'm getting from the city's link. I have an ISP who I highly recommend, and they helped me troubleshoot it as far as they could, and the result is, the fiber is up (I tested it by removing the router from the network and plugging my laptop directly into the city/ISP's device, and everything popped back to life.) The jury is not still out on this one. I can't recommend it to anyone. I go back to work tomorrow, and don't have internet in my home office. Neither does my wife. I'll have to run to Best Buy (Worst Experience Ever), or Walmart (they know nothing about anything), and pick something up that WILL work. I don't trust the things Amazon has been doing, so am not sure that I'll get anything back on this purchase. That's just under $100.oo wasted for a product that lasted almost exactly 6 weeks. I used to trust Netgear. It's been a while since I bought anything of theirs. Not since I stopped being an I.T. Director and don't need to purchase equipment for a company. But, my customers now are places everyone's heard of, like Vanderbilt U., the U.S. Senate, the House or Reps; Apple, Oracle, Facebook. You know, tiny companies... I'm not a happy camper. It's Sunday late, and nothing's open, and it sucks to be me. Oh wait, Walmart is open, and I got a TP Link Wi-Fi 6 router. It works fine, as long as I have Smart Connect turned on. With that off, the link is flaky. I tried that with the Netgear router, but it made very little difference. So, to date (it's been several days since writing the above), I was told by Amazon that I had to go to Netgear for help. They will require going through the standard troubleshooting steps, so I'll have to take my internet down and plug this thing back in, then a Netgear engineer will access the router and check stuff out... I may get a new one out of this, and I'll be okay with that. No such luck. I reset it and it stayed up a couple of weeks, but now is completely dead. I'm never buying Netgear again. They charge monthly fees for basic services on the thing. I'll never pay monthly for services like this. QoS, parental controls, etc SHOULD NOT BE SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES!

I was plesantly surprised when I replaced a 3-year old wi-fi router with this one. I now get full broadband speed and have about 3-times the wi-fi coverage. I had installed a wi-fi mesh extender which worked well but is now unneeded. This router has some great admin features too. I'm a retired IT Support Specialist so I really appreciate the attention to security in this router; for the price, I'm impressed.

After first couple weeks I don’t have any problems with it, range is very good, speed and it handles about 15 devices with no issues at all, it’ll take more if I wanted. App is very intuitive, easy to use and customizable, sometimes they want to sell you some addons but whatever. Definitely would recommend it

Moved into a larger house and wanted to upgrade my router. Netgear or Belkin are my go to. Great price on this model and have been very pleased with its performance.
