Just as we’re getting used to being glued to our phones, here comes a watch that requires you only to raise your wrist. If my casual survey of the phone-addicted is any guide, we’re mostly using it for text messages. This smartwatch takes care of that for you. It’s a one-way street, as there’s no easy way to respond, but it gathers all manner of social-media messages for you. And you can place calls and answer them, although with somewhat less fidelity than a good phone offers. But I bought this for my wife, who has become addicted to its fitness-tracking ability. It tracks her steps, walking or running, while monitoring her heart rate and blood oxygen, and rewards her with a multi-color screen that competes its design when she meets her daily goal, as you can see in the pictures. When she sleeps, it tracks not only the hours she spends in dreamland but also how much REM sleep she acquires in the course of the night. In other words, it offers both comfort and anxiety, but I suppose the anxiety is useful, persuading her to walk a little more to meet the day’s goal. More detailed information comes from the GloryFit app, which is also where you choose your watch face (there are many) and set other options. There’s a slew of sports modes she has yet to examine, which offer data according to the particular sport you’re engaged in. My wife initially disparaged the notion of wearing a watch like this; now she won’t be without it. I’m getting jealous. I may have to get one myself.

I bought this as a fitness tracker for my 14 year old daughter, but it is WAY more! It has so many cool features like a flashlight, you can sync your music to it and even take calls or text from it. It truly does it all! Would buy again! Great value for a fraction of the price of name brand smartwatches. Battery lasts a long time between charges.
