You get what you pay for but the one issue you have on this one is they keyboard light stays off except when it's dark and when you touch it. It turns off again. For gamers this isn't a good thing as you often need to find a key quickly and with this you need to give it an input first before the keyboard lights up. And right now, as i type, i'm in a medium dark room and it's not on again.

I needed a new laptop for gaming, streaming, etc. I went with HP because my old HP laptop is 6 years old and still works fairly well and that impressed me that I was getting something new that would last awhile. But, as always happens, it had become frustratingly technically out-of-date for running some games and was also very slow due to low free memory. This new model is tons more powerful and triple the memory. I have yet to find a game I was unable to play on it and watching videos/streams is mostly without flaw. Battery life is not great, I would imagine because of the amount of energy it needs to be as cool as it is. This was not a deal-breaker for me because I really wasn't getting it for portable use anyway, so mine is always plugged in. 2 relatively minor issues I've had should be noted: The keyboard is backlit but this model turns off the backlighting after about 10 seconds of you not typing. As far as I'm concerned that defeats the purpose of the feature in that it doesn't remain constantly lit in the dark. There are no BIOS or other setting options to change this so it's a little annoying. Secondly, there seems to be a slight problem with the volume when watching movies off of streaming sites like Amazon Prime Video and NetFlix. At MAXIMUM speaker volume and MAXIMUM stream volume, the sound is acceptable but you can't get it any higher than an average output. It does NOT, however, have this problem when playing games, so I dunno what's up with that. I contacted HP about it, but they've never gotten back to me on it. I've found it to be a pretty minor annoyance though as if needs be I can still use my old laptop if I need to watch something at a louder volume. All in all, I'm pretty happy with this model, though I'll update this review if anything new, good or bad, comes up with it. I decided to wait 3 months of using it before offering my opinion, and there you have it. ;)

I do virtual comedy shows so I needed it for the speed. I got it yesterday, I love the Cortana voice set up! It was so easy to get started. I did a zoom show and had no problems. My separate recording device was not working so I had to use the built in camera; it wasn't terrible or the best. So far I am very happy with my purchase.

It arrived quickly and was easy to set up right out of the box. The backlit keyboard is awesome and the trackpad is responsive without being too touchy. It runs my Sims 4 base game with several expansions with no issues. I left it unplugged and closed for over a day and the battery only dropped a few percentages. I highly recommend this for casual PC gaming and internet browsing. I’m no longer a student but I would have loved having this to do schoolwork on a few years ago.

Best laptop I've owned! Love the look of it with the green and black, beautiful at night in the dark with the keyboard lit green 👌. Its been perfect for me playing Lost Ark, no problems at all. Also I did the Used Like New option and the laptop is in perfect condition, not a single scratch. Battery life is decent when gaming it last a couple hours. 4.6 star rating is perfect. 👏👏
